STATEMENT FROM ARLAINE ROCKEY
Attorney for Jeannie Holleman
“I was a bit shocked to find that one of the aspects of Ms. Holleman’s case against Clay Aiken, et. al., that has drawn criticism, has been the list of injunctive relief requested in the Complaint, particularly asking the Court to order that Mr. Aiken sell Out of the Blue at his concerts.
I -- not my client -- decided to request this particular relief because it directly relates to the harm that was done by the Defendants. It would be one component of the comprehensive relief necessary to make up for the serious damages suffered by my client. As this particular relief would be granted as part of a permanent injunction, after the Court has heard all of the evidence, the public would then know that the allegations in the Complaint have been proven.
My client seeks justice. The only thing more just than having Mr. Aiken sell my client’s books at his concerts would be his mother standing behind the counter.”
