Published in January, 2006, Out Of The Blue is one part history, two parts memoir and three parts inspiration. Holleman shares fond memoriesof Aiken  from his "adopted" family, the McGhees. Most of the book however, is devoted to fans’ stories of how Clay Aiken, and being an Aiken fan, has changed their lives. It also provides some never-before-seen photographs from his early years, to his rise as a super star, after winning runner-up in the second season of Fox's, American Idol.

Author, Jeannie Holleman's warm tribute to this Raleigh, NC hometown boy shares moving stories of AIken as a boy, along with never-before-seen photos of the singing star from his infancy to his auditions on American Idol. Holleman's recollections of AIken's will make you wish you had grown up in her neighborhood. As Clay says, the McGhees can talk your ears off. The last half of the book is filled with tributes from fans who feel that Clay has made a difference for good in their lives. A lovely book lovingly written.
