James E. White, Jr.
James E. White Jr. was born only footsteps away from Beale Street, WC Handy Park and the world-famous Stax Recording Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Influenced by Tennessee’s musical heritage, James became a recording artist at the age of 15 with King Records in Nashville. James soon moved to Motown’s home Detroit, where his family members also flourished musically.
Today,
it is impossible to find a more dedicated, hardworking man in the world of
entertainment than Jim White.
White is a television producer, writer-poet, record producer and Entertainment Consultant to the industry. He came to Los Angeles a few short years ago after a successful run in Michigan as the host and producer of his own TV. show Stars Of Tomorrow which aired on WJBK CBS Detroit and WMAQ NBC in Chicago. In his Art-Deco foyer, the walls are lined with innumerable photos of him with business associates who are some of this country's most important "players" in the field of politics, music, sports and the arts. Yes, from President George Bush, Sr., Alex Haley, Magic Johnson, to Ray Charles, Rosa Park, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Reggie Jackson.
JWE Studios,
located in Beverly Hills, had been a revolving door and hub serving the
entertainment community for over a decade. White then turned over his four star
facility to his good friend and world renown photographer Harry Langdon
in order to pursue his film aspirations. The Beverly Hills Chamber of
Commerce voted Jim White Enterprises its recipient of The 1995
Small Business of the Year Award.
White sets the example and encourages others with philanthropic abilities to
give back to their communities. A few examples of the organizations he has
assisted is his close, dear friend, the world renowned scientist Dr. Jane
Goodall, with the Jane Goodall Institute. He works also with the
Magic Johnson foundation, ORT, Maple Counseling, UNCF and
Vista Del Mar.
White has helped to guide numerous entertainers in their careers and has Choreographed some of his favorite old school superstar recording acts such as The Four Tops, Enchantment, The Spinners, The Dramatics, Floaters and The Contours. He has written and produced songs for The Force MD's, The Four Tops, Frankie Valli and The Last Poets. He's produced for Island, Tommyboy and Warner Bros. record companies.
As a writer producer, White has shared the spotlight with some of the worlds most respected record producers such as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Full Force, Dexter Wonzel, Jelly bean Benitez and Marley Marl. White has also performed in and helped to stage the award winning music video starring Aretha Franklin "Freeway of love" the Pink cadillac. He managed both 1989 and 1990 Miss USA winners.
White has also served on the board of directors with; The World Film Institute, which aired its first show "The Family Film Awards" on CBS produced by Dick Clark, The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, and the B. H. Economic Development. He is also a member of Beverly Hills Rotary Club.
