Cynthia Eckert has over 30 years of experience
in many aspects of the health care delivery system. With a broad
range of
responsibilities, her consulting focus for the past 5 years have been in the
areas of internet vigilance training development and marketing, CBRNE content
development for health care providers, emergency preparedness planning for
hospitals, health care systems and communities. Cynthia has expertise in the
areas of practice management, nursing, compliance, auditing, and managed care.
She has become a subject matter expert on the
emergency preparedness standards and best practices set by the National Response
Plan, the National Infrastructure Protection Plan, the Joint Commission of
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the Hospital Incident Command
Systems. She completed training for health care executives at The Department
of Homeland Security - Noble Training Center, Anniston,
AL.
SELECTED EXPERIENCE:

Trauma nurse in the emergency room at
University of Mississippi Medical Center, a level one trauma center, and
later Metro General Hospital,
which at that time was, also the designated trauma center for Davidson
County.

Admitting Director for HCA’s 584-bed
flagship hospital, previously known as Park View
Medical Center.

Health Services Director for a 330,000
member public sector HMO with responsibility for utilization review, quality
improvement, risk management, credentialing, and case management functions.

Vice President of Campus Health Services, a
company that operated and managed multiple college-based health centers.

Clinical Coordinator for Tennessee Primary
Care Association promoting preventive healthcare and disease management in
Tennessee as a part of the Health Disparities Collaboratives – a national
Disease Management Initiative sponsored by the federal DHHS Bureau of
Primary Health Care (BPHC). This initiative expands access to high quality,
culturally and linguistically competent primary and preventive care for
underserved, uninsured, and underinsured Americans.
