About Chris Prentiss

Chris Prentiss is co-founder and co-director of the world-famous Passages Substance Abuse Treatment Center, located in Malibu, California. He became involved in the field of alcoholism and addiction recovery to save the life of his son, Pax, who was addicted to heroin, cocaine and alcohol for ten years. After going to many rehabs and many therapists without success, in desperation they finally created their own revolutionary treatment program that has become the basis of the world’s most successful and effective treatment center. Together, father and son founded Passages in 2001 to help others find their freedom from dependency. As part of the Passages treatment center, they also operate a sober living house in Malibu.
With a deep desire to help others fulfill their greatest potential, Prentiss also led successful personal empowerment workshops in Southern California. Through his profound and practical principles, he helped participants to make important lifestyle changes, break unhealthy habits, advance in their chosen fields, accomplish deeds they had previously believed were far beyond their capabilities, end dependent relationships, and discover their passion for life. The successful principles that evolved from his seminars are also foundational to his revolutionary Passages program.
On a personal note, Prentiss resides in Malibu, California, with his wife, Lyn. He continues to write books on personal growth, psychology, metaphysics, and philosophy. Both he and his wife are equestrians and love horses. Prentiss is also the author of a dozen books on personal growth and has written, produced and directed a feature film. He has been a successful business man for many years on both the east and west coasts of the United States.
