Interview Questions for Chris Prentiss
· Why did you write The Alcoholism & Addiction (A&A) Cure?
· In your book, you talk about your 10-year struggle with your son’s heroin addiction. What did you learn through that process that could help others who are watching or listening to us right now?
· In the A&A Cure, you talk about the four causes of A&A. What are they?
· How will reading this book help someone? Do people have to come to your center to get the benefit out of
the program you write about in the book, or can they use it on their own?
· What is the philosophy behind the A&A cure?
· You’ve titled your book The Alcoholism and Addiction Cure. That’s a revolutionary and provocative
approach when most recovery programs emphasize “once an alcoholic or addict, always an alcoholic or
addict.” Do you really believe that alcoholics and addicts can be cured? And what do you mean by “cured”?
· Do you believe alcoholism and addiction are diseases?
· Another slogan that you often hear in the treatment of substance abuse is: “Relapse is part of recovery.” You
say in your book that this slogan is not only untrue but that it is harmful to recovery. Why isn’t it true? Hasn’t that
been the experience of most people who have a dependency and who have relapsed over and over again?
· In your experience, what are the real causes of alcoholism and addiction?
· You claim to have nearly an 85% recovery rate. How do you achieve such a high success rate?
· What are the most critical factors in breaking free from alcoholism and addiction?
· What are some of the underlying problems and what are the results of that? Is cocaine the problem or is it the weak adrenals?
· How do you cure the underlying conditions?
· What can you tell us about Passages?
· At Passages, you have an amazing 84.4% recovery rate when the relapse rate for alcoholics and addicts is
generally between 80 and 90%. Why is Passages so successful?
· Why is the disease concept so harmful?
· What are your comments on organizations like Alcoholics Anonymous?
